We are
VERY CLOSE TO OUR FAMILY AND VALUE TIME SPENT WITH THEM.
Brian’s dad and Amber’s parents live close by and often come over for family dinners. Brian’s mother unfortunately passed in 2011.
Brian has an older brother and younger sister, and Amber has an older sister. We talk to our siblings at least once a week and we are fortunate that they live an hour away except for Brian’s sister, who lives in Kansas. Together we have 7 nephews and we try to stay as present in their lives as possible.
Specifically,
WE ARE VERY INVOLVED WITH AMBER’S TWO NEPHEWS AS WE OFTEN BABYSIT THEM.
In terms of our extended family, we have 13 first cousins, 22 younger cousins under the age of 12, and a handful of aunts and uncles. The larger family gets together often around the holidays, birthdays and religious ceremonies. We also have annual traditions with different family groups, such as going to Stone Harbor during Memorial Day weekend or watching the Super Bowl together.
